Hello and some advice please x

Hi,

I'm so pleased to have found somewhere to ask for help as im a bit unsure of what to do regarding my son. From birth my now 3yr old has always had difficulties from settling to feeding something that we just assumed was normal. As time has gone on we are beginning to wonder if our son's little quirks are caused by something else. I could rabble on for an age on all the little quirks he has but if I made a list of the main concerns I would appreciate some advice on whether I need to seek some help...

Constant repetition (20-30 times in a few mins at its worst) of phrases in particular when wanting to know exactly where we are going and what we are doing for the day.

OCD tendancies such as sitting in same seats, closing doors, pressing buttons - our routine has be very rigid.

Meltdowns in public places unless he knows hes going there. Tantrums when he doesnt get him own way.

Obsession with trains, cars and loves puzzles. He lies on the floor and watches the wheels and likes to ask what certain parts are. Watches the same dvd until it breaks and then moves on.

Fussy eater and drinker - a constant battle.

Late talker but now has a great vocab, late walker but is very good at football. Potty training is going no-where fast.

On the face of it he seems like a normal child and does socialize but ive noticed that he doesnt actually play with other children as such he just follows them or plays on his own by them. Hes very loving but I noticed on a Thomas the Tank engine game (hes a wizz on the computer) he could match cards but couldnt determine between the facial expressions of the trains.

I am so sorry to ramble on, i'm thinking of taking him to see the health visitor next week to discuss things, should I right in thinking that he may need some sort of assessment or am I just worrying over nothing?

Either way I wouldnt change the little minx for the world I just worry that his life seems so stressed even with our greatest attempts to make his life easier for him.

Thanks for reading x
