Groups for parents of children with ASD in South Manchester area

My son has a diagnosis ASD, he has school refused on and off since starting secondary school and is now not attending, he is year 9. (Third year to us more retro 'old' types!)

I have no contact with any other parents in a similar situation and wondered if there are any groups out there?

Any feedback would be helpful.

Hi Gill,

It sounds like you might be interest in the NAS parent-to-parent service, which you can find here - https://www.autism.org.uk/services/helplines/parent-to-parent.aspx - and offers emotional support to parents and carers of autistic children and adults from other parents who are trained volunteers with similar experiences.

Also you might want to look at the Autism Services Directory - https://www.autism.org.uk/directory.aspx - which has sections for support groups that you can filter by location, so hopefully you might be able to find something in your area.
