Hello Bjorn (sorry no strange characters in the UK language - except eccentrics like me lol)
I am as yet not diagnosed (awaiting NHS) but many experienced with Neuro Diverse people say of course I am Autistic (albeit probably more on the Asperger's side).
I remember ye olde internet from the 90's within University and can see how the foundations were good, useful and helpful - maybe the Innovators/Pioneers had Autism/Aspergers that created the mindset.
Following through Friends ReUnited, Bebo, My Space, Facebook, etc then IMHO the Neuro Typicals (chasing power/money) worked out how to commercialise it. Thus now everything is about Marketing (You are the product, tracking wherever you go, making money for them).
I dropped off Facebook over three years ago as I found it so Narcissistic and mentally damaging (everyone wants the spotlight, bigging themselves up, bragging, etc) and If you do not conform then you are made to feel a lesser person or ignored/ostracised. Thus Bullying also moved from in School, possible outside on the street into the house becoming 24/7/365 with trolls becoming so uncaring/damaging to people that cannot deal with it.
This week things were discussed and everyone agreed with me that you enter a keyword and because of the Google/YouTube/Facebook algorithms then the prominent (sponsored) results can only create more damage/hurt/upset than help - Looking for normal shopping, engineering, computer, etc information then that same algorithm works OK.
Thanks Bjorn, I find learning/reading in bite sized chunks easier, especially when any stress/anxiety felt. I learn by doing rather than reading so Forums/Wikipedia with the bite sized chunks easier. The shame I find is that NT's do a lot and never involve the users as stakeholders in the design/layout which means there is so much that is overwhelming to me/us.
