Hi there,

I'm new here, so hello all!  I have two sons, 7 and 9 both with autism and the eldest also has a diagnosis of adhd. Both have statement of special needs, thankfully, for support at their school.  I'm single too but dad is nearby and has loads of contact with them which helps a little.

I'm sure most of you are experiencing a stressful time right now with the school holidays - I've spent most of the day in tears and thinking i'm the worlds worst mother - but I shall find another discussion board for that rant!!

Hello all again!  Really looking forward to any help and suggestions from you guys along the way.  Thanks for having me!

  • hi Leanne - my son's grown up now, but the summer holidays, especially, were difficult, partly because there was little local authority provision for children with autism.  You're not the world's worst mother - it's just you're having a difficult time.  Don't beat yourself up! Do you get any respite care?  I don't see why you can't have a good old rant here - why not??
