Hello,
my name is Nick and I live in the Staffordshire Moorlands and am a keen local cyclist. I also run a classic 1976 Land Rover as my transport as I love classic cars. I have a great interest in the city of Yellowknife in the north west territories of Canada as I love Ice Road Truckers and Ice Pilots NWT. I would love to visit Yellowknife one day and am busy saving. I am keen to hear from anyone near to me or anyone who wants to say hello.
That's ace
Hi 7898! Very nice, an absolute classic.
Hello Windscale,
people in Yellowknife already cycle over the Detah Ice road in Winter. In fact, you can take a tour on bikes with a local company should you wish.
Hello Bookworm, I met Lisa Kelly two years ago at Truckfest as well as Todd Dewey and they are both nice people to chat with. They are both still trucking.
Yes, I've seen a few episodes and I thought it was quite good. One of the episodes I watched a truck went through the ice, and another I saw the guy was having to try and bleed his brakes or something without getting his hands frost-bitten!
You said though "give me anything snow or ice related and I'm there!" so I was suggesting ice road cyclists could be a new extreme programme :-).
Hey and welcome!x
No Ice road truckers, Have you not watched it? They are amazing, drive across frozen lakes in Canada in the Winter, real nail biting stuff, not that I need a reason to bite my nails.
Ice Road cyclists?
Same here, I love the 'ice road trucker', where have they gone? I think Lisa is the star. Give me anything snow or ice related and I'm there! Hello and welcome.
Hello, thank you for your kind words.
Hello Cloudy Mountains,
yes, it is a Series three, 88, 2.25 diesel .
Hello Plastic,
yes, Land Rovers are easy to maintain although the performance is nothing like a car but they are fun to drive.
Hello R2D2, thank you for your kind welcome.
Hello and thank you.
Hi. Land Rover sounds great!
Hello and welcome! Is it a Land Rover Series 3?
Hi Nick
Welcome to the boards. I'm into classic cars - had loads inc MGBGT, Spitfire, GT6, Lotus Excel, TVR350 etc. Always fancied a Land Rover for the mechanical simplicty.
Greetings and welcome
