Any Experience With Having A Party for Autistic Children? - Advice Needed.

Hi All,

I am new here and I'd like to ask for some help.  My nephew is autistic and something that's been on my mind for a while now, is the stigma that goes with it and the stories we read about how these very special children never get invited to parties.  With that in mind, I've decided to research what would be best practice to actually organise an event, locally (in this case Birmingham) where only autistic children and their family members can be invited to, attend and simply have a good time, however best that is done.

My challenge is that I have no experience in this and so I would welcome any advice with regards orginising a small party for approx 20 people (each can invite a couple of family members).   This question is really the start point in my researching and I cannot thank you enough, for your advice.

Please do feel free to comment on best practices, legal considerations, social factors and anything else you feel would help me in my thinking.
