I'll elaborate further about myself and situation when I've 'gathered myself' a bit better but just wanted to say thank you all so much for being here! I've lurked and read through many forum threads before plucking up the courage to drop this thread.
I'd been wary of joining an online group as so many purported help communities (not specifically autism related) I've found have such elements of hostility, condescension etc but you guys are so warm, welcoming, helpful and supportive to each other, I feel like my world isn't as small and lonely as it was before I found you and you may well have saved me just by being here.

I confess it was reading through your crisis thread that sold this community to me.. The concern and compassion from so many towards you - that I've also noticed you showing to others on their posts - has had quite a profound effect on me.
I have a new 'safe place'!
Welcome, Lou. I can personally testify to the genuine love and support of this group. I had a crisis at the weekend, and they were there for me. You're in the right place.
