Hello everyone we are new here and been in the club for some time. We have a 13yr old son on the spectrum over past two tears his anger got to a point where he was hurting himself and us damaging property etc. We were faced with having to reconsider meds for which we had managed to avoid since his diagnosus some 8 years ago. After trying a few different ones we now have rispiradone with a daily dosage of 0.5ml and wonder what other people have started on and what proved successful?
Thanks
Hello Tam & Mal (?) Sorry you didn't get much answer to this. You may get more reaction in the 'Parents and carers' forum.
Risperidone is an antipsychotic, I'm not sure what 0.5ml of liquid translates to in terms of drug dosage (looks like it's 1mg/ml, so 500µg, but don't take my word for it).
Just wanted to cross-reference to another thread on medication, although not quite the same kind of case:

Again, my question would be what other interventions CAMHS has suggested.
