Hi folks,
I'm Lisa, I'm 35 and mum to 5 - including triplet 9 year olds, one of which is Joe - who is currently starting the process of diagnosis. He was assessed by an ed psych a couple of years ago, who said that because he was having no problems in school, that he didn't need a full diagnosis, and if we wanted one - to go through the GP.
Well, 2 years later, and I'm currently divorcing their dad, have moved out of the area, and things with Joe have taken a big turn for the worst. While when he's happy, he's incredibly well behaved, he angers very easily, and has turned destructive and violent. I can't control the mood swings, and his nervous twitches and tics are back (eyes/nose/mouth), and he's hand flapping again.
The school are behind us 100% with trying to get a diagnosis (presumably Aspergers).
So anyway, I live in Newcastle now, and could use support - I'm so tired all the time, the kids rarely settle before 10-11pm, often because Joe is having a tantrum or is upset about something. The floods yesterday didn't help!
Nice to "meet" you all
Lisa
