hi my name is keeley im 28 i have two boys dylan aged 9 and jack aged 4 my youngest jack was dignosed with autism in november didnt come as a shock because i knew something wasnt right from 18 months he was never a calm baby and didnt sleep throu till 2 yrs old went and spoke to my health vistor about jacks speech has he wasnt talking very much so i got passed on speech and language where i went on a 6 week course with jack but jack just wasnt interested wasnt making any eye contact and was in his own little world so after the 6 weeks we got passed on to ryegate we got seen just after jacks 3rd birthday think we went to combine clinic were jack went for 2 hours once a week then after the 6 week we had a meeting and got told jack was showing all the signs of autism by then i already knew anyway. jack started nursery last june and settled in quite well still doesnt talk much and likes to be in his little space.myself and nursey feel that he wouldnt cope with mainstream school so just going throu the process of getting a statement and looking at special needs schools.
