What will I tell/ask the Paed on Thursday.

DS 5 dx'd ASD Delayed Expressive Language.

I feel blessed we have been given the opportunity with paed so don't want to waste it.

I was expecting the paed to be inquisitive last time but no it was more an audience with them! Is there nothing else they can do after diagnosis? I feel they are not adding anything else (we are in Hertfordshire) as it would give me evidence towards SA. He is getting help from all the usual places OT, SALT, Autism Advisory Service ect.

I was expecting things like DISCO and ADOS assessments but he has a diagnosis. Trouble is if you don't know what is out there you don't know what to ask. I feel if I had not said the word Autism he would not have been given the label and would still be struggling now for diagnosis. I don't have the expertise to move our case forward.

DS too delayed developmentally but is making progress.

I would like to know if he is high functioning, if he is bad enough to be referred to CAMHS, (no bad trouble) whether he is eligible to access any type of funding.

Anybody got any suggestions of what information I should offer/request?
