Have seen a number of threads on other forums where OT services are either refusing Maclaren Majors for children with ASC and saying they have to have a wheelchair or refusing the referral at all.
Does anyone know the basis of entitlement to a wheelchair for a child with ASC or how these decisions can be challenged?
Hi, Our OT service was willing to give us a wheelchair but not a maclaren major, we have applied for a Maclaren with Newlife Charity and should get a decision soon. The OT did a covering letter for us that was sent in with our application forms. I do hope that we will be awarded a pushchair that our child really needs, I will let you know how we get on!!
