A Wrong Diagnosis?

Hi all, I just have a question.

I recently have been diagnosed with Asperger's over in Ireland. We don't have many good forums, so I'm coming here for help. I'm 17 and my whole life, when I get stressed out, I hear voices in my head, 2 specific ones: one, a very violent female and the other a very confident male. Each have their own personas but they always disappeared after a day or two.

Since my diagnosis with Asperger's, the voices have gotten worse and have even left me in some very awkward positions. Not a naturally violent person, I slapped a peer in school for dropping a book on the desk too loudly. Except, it was the female voice that took over.

Asperger's is definitely a diagnosis for me, it fits me perfectly, but could there be an underlying condition here? I told my psychologist in CAHMS about it but nothing was done or said about it and as I'm getting mors stressed, I'm finding it harder and harder to keep my mind as my own.

Also, I've started seeing hallucinations, specifically when I'm tired. When physically tired, I see a blue elephant with pink tiger stripes I've taken to calling Stripes, and a purple lion with green spots wearing an orange tutu I've started calling Peppy.

Please, can someone help me?

    Hi Corey,

Welcome to the forum. I'm not sure how much help we can give you - there are limits to what we can suggest online and you may be best advised to consult your GP.

It may be that your stress is leading to consequences with your mental health. Autism often leads to social isolation and this can also create stress.

Are you getting any counselling or therapy such as CBT?

Are you on any medication that might have side effects that could explain your experience with hearing voices etc?
