Hi
This is my first post, I am the mum of a 24 year old daughter who was diagnosed last summer with Asperger Syndrome, she has had Anorexia for 11 years (we now know this is probably as a result of having Asperger), she was also diagnosed last summer with osteoporosis in her spine, hips & neck (caused by anorexia). She has received PIP for the past 3 years. She had an assessment in December and was told she is no longer entitled to receive PIP, we have appealed and she has been turned down again. She is so distressed she has stopped eating, without PIP she will probably lose her flat (next door to my house) which is her sanctuary away from the world. We have no idea why or how this has happened as she has been diagnosed with Asperger & osteoporosis since having PIP for 3 years. At the assessment she was about 6 stone, she is skin & bone, yet the assessor recorded that she was of average build! Has anyone else experienced this situation? We now have to appeal again and go before a panel, I am looking for any advise anyone has, I feel so helpless to help her x
