ADOS 2

Hi

I am experiencing a high level of anxiety about some practical tests that I amscheduled to take next week.

They are part of my ASD assessment.

I am 46 years old and wonder what possible tests these maybe and what form they take.

I dont like suprises.

Any help would be helpful.

  • Hi Abor,

    The research.aggre.org/program/aboutados description is:

The Autism Dignostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) is a semi-structed assessment of communication, social interaction, and play (or imaginative use of materials) for individuals suspected of having autism or other pervasive disorders.

Try and resist the idea that it is anything like a 'you must say and do what is expected of you test', just take each aspect as it comes. The vast majority of the work in the test is done by the diagnostic specialist, and all that is required of you is just to take part in the interview - by being yourself. Getting things write and wrong are either way correct in the test.

    Does that help?

PS, Some people do not even notice that a test is taking place.
