Mental Health / Help and Advice / Counseling

Hi

Recently diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome. Work have gone into overdrive removing everything I've worked hard for and decided their duty of care is to limit my work in their eyes to help me but it is having the totally opposite effect.

I've spoken to the Retail Trust about a six week counseling session course but they believe I could do with a more long term solution.

Any ideas where I can go to get some help? I need to talk to someone about the issues I'm facing and not in a judgemental way offer some practical help with the problems I am facing and having to deal with.

  • Hi,

I had difficulty when I started work and Access to Work helped me out a lot.  I'm not sure whether they work with people already in work, but it may be worth giving them a ring, or perhaps speak to the disability adviser at the local Job Centre.  They want you to keep your job, so they could be helpful.

I hope you get it sorted, for your sake,

    Take care,
    M.
