Have a bit of a hoarding problem which I am trying to address. While this is linked to my OCD rather than my aperger's, I feel some of my obsessive interests are playing a part. Would like to hear if hoarding has been a problem for others on here. I had a visit from a social worker, who put me in touch with this company to help sort it out. I have a problem in that for elf and safety reasons, there must be two people in my home to help. I can only deal with one person at a time, even that with difficulty.
I don't think my hoarding is that bad, but have heard most people with this condition feel that way. I live in a spacious house on my own, and yes things are starting to get in the way. I am concerned as I rent the landlord will see this as a problem, and I will end up losing my home, along with the associated stress of finding a new place. I have a garden, which is clear, no clutter.
I used to own my own home many years ago, and was the opposite; very few belongings, just basic things, and kept the place very tidy. I was very depressed, and didn't pursue interests that much. Now, I am being more active with my interests, I have these compulsions to find and collect things.
