hi every one im new here so not sure what to expect, im looking for a little help and insight.
my son who is now 11 has been having problems since the age of 4 this includes school as well, mainly behavioural issues i shall list how he is and what he is like
hyper most of the time
does not stop talking
makes silly noises (copies television and his baby sisters (4 and 5)
will sit in extremely awkward positions
cannot sit down will randomly get up walk around, sit down and so on....
aggressive and violent if he cannot get his on way
lack of empathy and sympathy for anyone
moody/depressed at times and feels sorry for himself (if that makes sense)
will not share but expects other to share with him.
a learning difficulty in math, and reading is a little behind
bad personal hygeine has to be reminded constantly never remember anything
but brilliant with remembering facts and books ect also a great artist.
cant focus on work home work
does not make friends easily
thinks he is being bullied but its just children being children.
not sure if worth saying he wears glasses and if he is watching television rather look face toward the tv he will use his peripheral vision so is head is to the side and watching out the corner of his eyes?
with all ive mentioned above there is probably more i could add but cannot think of atm.
this is where i need some guidance scholl have picked up on a few of the above points but he is deemed not extreme so they will not do anything, CAHMs came to school after GP refferal they watched him for 30 minutes and said he was fine nothing wrong with him, so back to the docs asked to keep an eye over the next 6 weeks and return if needed so i did referral was made to paediatrics and ADHD screening questionaires were sent out.....he scored 9 under what the hospital wanted from school questionaire and i was told that was it nothing could be done. left it around a month and then he started suffering what what seemed to be panic/anxiety attacks, doc referred again saw a consultant who said at that time he cannot deal with any of the behavioural problems but i told him and he said sounds like ASD (who diagnoses this and who do i ask) but he will send out ADHD questionaires again (by the way i do not beleive my son has ADHD) and a follow-up app in august.
can anyone help me, has anyone had similar issues with their children, please ask me questions and il do my best to answer as there are lots of thing s i have missed out
