2nd opinion

Looking for help.

I have a 6 year old with ASD diagnosed last year.

We just got back from our 5 year olds feed back. They have said she has challenging behaviour an separation anxiety, but not seen enough to give an diagnosis.

We strongly disagree with this, I feel at a complete loss, it was a fight to get to CDC, and very very worried my daughters is going to deteriorate, once she is in a more structured environment .

She is due to move into class one in Sept which my son only just coped with.

Any advise is greatly appreciated

Have you (both) tried the free online test at aspergerstest.net/.../ This is a reliable and respectable test which indicates traits.

It is quite possible to have traits but not need a diagnosis. A diagnosis is quite a sticky label that has benefits but can cause issues. I would have thought that if one sibling has been diagnosed and a parent is strongly suspected of having it then they should find it easier to identify your second child as autistic.

Second opinions are discussed regularly on the forum but the Search the Forum facility isn't working this morning. Perhaps you can try later with "second opinion" as the search term but include the quote marks to make it look for the phrase rather than two separate words in a post.
