2nd opinion

Looking for help.

I have a 6 year old with ASD diagnosed last year.

We just got back from our 5 year olds feed back. They have said she has challenging behaviour an separation anxiety, but not seen enough to give an diagnosis.

We strongly disagree with this, I feel at a complete loss, it was a fight to get to CDC, and very very worried my daughters is going to deteriorate, once she is in a more structured environment .

She is due to move into class one in Sept which my son only just coped with.

Any advise is greatly appreciated

Presumably, someone has discussed with you the likelihood that one or both of you parents are on the spectrum? This is relevant as it is likely to affect the way you are bringing your children up and it is relvant to how you approach the issues of getting a second opinion. Undiagnosed people tend to have to fight for everything they need whereas if you understand your own autistic traits you may find it easier to get what you need.

I hope I haven't offended and please don't feel that I want to make you responsible - I am an autistic parent who did not know I was autistic until after they had grown up - I really would have done things differently if I had known I was autistic when my children were your children's ages.
