Assessment done... what does it all mean?

Hello,

My son who is turning 4 at the end of May has done  an ABA evaluation and a speech therapy evaluation. There is no diagnosis as of yet, but, when I was given the plan of care, there is an area that states TRAAC sessions... what does that mean? is it a medical term or does it have to do with a potential diagnosis?

Please help.

Applied Behaviour Analysis is not as I understand it (I may be wrong so please correct me) sanctioned or funded under the NHS. It is a training programme that probably has some very good practitioners and some charlatans. I have read one report on this forum, from someone who was subjected to it, and his feedback was not positive.

The potential benefits of this programme are that the child will get concentrated attention from someone who should understand how to engage an autistic child. The potential drawback is that the child feels harangued and pressurised and unable to progress.

    TRAAC seems to be http://www.traac.ca/

Are you on the UK side of the pond or the other? This site is the UK NAS site - there isn't a residency qualification for taking part but I am just wondering where you are.
