statement help

hi- my son has recently been diagnosede with hf autism, the peadtritrician has informed the school, as i am not happy with the way they treaat him i want to tansfer schools- the local authorities says he isnt statemented nor on any sen register....

i am confused as to what and how then do you have to get one of these so called statements

  • The school should be putting one in place for you. Make an appointment with the headteacher and tell them to apply for a statement.

    If you don't know who or where your local Childrens Development Centre (CDC), ask your local GP for their details. Get in touch with the CDC and they should also be able to help you with getting your child statemented.

    What would also help is if you go through this website, put in your postcode and find your local autism support group as they will be able to give you all the advice and help that you will need.

    Also get in touch with the education rights advocacy on this website and they will also help you with your rights regarding your sons schooling.
