So we are desperately trying to help our daughter understand the toilet. She seems to know. And says peepee. Poo poo. and we manage to get her there for most pee's however our biggest problem is the number 2. Our daughter has a lot of problems with constipation. She tries to push. With little success her tummy gets very hard at times and I think that when she is trying to push by me taking her to the toilet it is making her hold on to it more. Instead of a poo it just tends to be a little at a time. We thought she may have problems with wheat and dairy. We have changed her diet around a few times and to be honest I'm not even sure if it helped. We are currently No dairy but she can have wheat now. This seems to be working and we are getting normal poos but every time I discuss with a doctor they tell me try her with some milk again. So I did ariund 4 days ago. And now she is so constipated again. I feel I know in my gut that the dairy may play a big part in it. Although its the doctors making me second guess myself. Could anyone offer any tips on the toileting ? I know constipation can be common in kids with ASD one minute I feel I'm doing the right thing and the next I feel I don't know what I'm doing. Needing advice desperately from someone who has gone through something similar rather than a doctor who quite frankly doesn't seem to listen to me. Thanks for your time all xx
