so I was advised that while I was awaiting my sons next referrals to come through to take him to our loca speech drop in, we had previously been before and he had been put forward for a group to help with single word use, which he is quite good at anyway, but there are various other groups they run to help. Anyway so I went with a friend who's son also went to the same group and since is now speaking in sentences etc. I explained why I was there some of his mannerisms like repetitive play and very ltitle eye contact. After 20mins or so of them playing with him and asking me questions. I was told he gives little eye contact with them which I knew already and was given a sheet of paper with 'baby games' to play with him like peek a boo etc. and told to wait for referrals. My friends son has been referred to a one on one group. I kind of feel pushed out like he cannot be helped so here, have a sheet of paper and wait for other people to see him.
Maybe im looking at it wrong but since our first referral to which I was told it could be autism like we just have to get on with it. No support or anything he hasn't got his next assesment until November that will be 8montha from his initial one.
