I'm a really worried mum with a 2.5 years old boy. I'm in a process of get my son diagnosised, however, the waiting and the anxiety is killing me. I wonder if the people here can help me with their own experience. I apologize for the long listing below:
-His speech is delayed. He can say 30 or 40 words, but apart from no, they are all numbers or alphabets. He never said hello, yes, mummy daddy. He had his own version of bye bye.
-He always had bad eye contact since he was a young baby. Now he is improving, however he only looks at us when we do things he likes eg singing a nursery song. When he sees somthing on TV he likes, he will sometimes turn to us with a smile.
-He doesn't like physical contact eg hug or kiss since he was a baby. He has improved after I trained him to give kisses. However, he will only give us a kiss after being told so.
-He never points at things, he holds our hands and bring us to the things.
-He likes play with doors(all different doors). I saw him played with all different doors in the playgroup for couple of hours. However, he doesn't seems to play with the doors at home so much. If he does play and I told him not to, he will stop.
-He also likes get things out of a basket and put things back in.
-He is abssesed with lift and escalater.
-He is very active.
-He doesn't seem to be interested in joining other kids to play. He will look at what other kids are doing but that's about it.
-He likes cars but do not line them up
-He dosn't walk on his toes
-He is not scared of crowd.
-He does follow the simple instructions, like put on your shoes and lie down and go to bed...
-He was scared of the hair drier noise when he was little but now he is over it.
-He does respond to his name.
-When he plays by himself, he likes to bring me to sit down next to him and watch him play. However, if I join in and play the things different from what he wants, he will keep shouting no no no.
-He likes going out.
-He sleeps through night.
-He can feel the pain when he hurts, but often stopped cry very soon.
-He doesn't do hand or figner flapping
-He doesn't smell or lick the toy or show extra interests in the car wheels
-He doesn't spin objects
-He is ok with change routines
-When you point out something he does following your hand
-He doesn't have a restricted tastes but not very keen on trying new things.
-He doesn't like new people to come into the house, and he will shout for 5 mins and then he is over it.
Any people with similar experience? Thanks a lot
