I'm new to this site, I've been looking now and again for a long time. I was diagnosed with Autism in 1998 and Aspergers in 2008. I'm currently under the care of an Aspergers team in a hospital. The woman who I meet to talk is a bit powerless and I'm afraid useless. Just arranging appointments to tell me about Aspergers, which I already know about, and now trying to tell me that I don't have Learning Disabilities.
I spent 15 years of torture in school, unable to do Maths, Science and Technology etc. Had no friends and was socially outcast, on top of that I believe I was depressed. Still am really.
I'm really struggling at the moment mentally. I feel I can no longer cope.
I would like to know, If I'm eligable for a Concessionary bus pass, which I was told I should apply for. Does Autism come under this? I'm recieving DLA on the Care Component (Middle Rate) and would like to some answers.
I thought I'd give some insight as well, about myself and my feelings. I'm new to the site.
