asd assesment .

Hi , Everyone hope you all having a good day . Needing a little help on asd . my son had his observation yesterday in nursey with his pead. Who specilailty is asd . she has said Kian is showing he has autism and would like him further tested . but she says he has good interactions . I though good interaction would rule asd out . Sorry if this is a silly question just on my reading on it i thought it ment having good interaction can rule it out ,my son goes to a sn nursery who also brought up that he was showing signs at his stent meeting . the pead spoke to us at his last app in oct about autism as we were worried then , she says his global delveolpment delay can show asd signs and just put on his report autisic behaviours and gdd, and she would observe him in nursey to see if he needed testing and she says he does , but what iam confused abut is she says he has good interactions . sorry if this is a confusing or long post . thanks for reading Smile

sorry ment to ad he is non verbal and not walking yet and is 3 years old . doesnt point or follow a point , but he has learned to wave  and peeka boo, has sensory issues , flaps constant . sideway eye looking . doesnt play with toys , and has a obbsesion with his toes . sorry i could go lol

Hi and welcome to the forum,

It sounds as though the paed is not 100% sure and I think it can be difficult to be completely sure what is going on at that age. The paed may have meant that his interaction was relatively good for someone on the spectrum but I think you should perhaps take your question back to the paed and ask for some further explanation or clarification.
