Green smoothies, drinking water questions

Hello everyone.

I will firstly say that I have only recently started work as a support worker at a local college, specialising in children and young adults with Autistic spectrum disorder as well as other developmental issues. I apologise if my terminology is not correct; I am new to all of this, but would welcome any feedback.

I was wondering whether anyone in this community has any information about the potential positive impact the inclusion of green smoothies and filtered, ionized water can have on my students? I have done a lot of research for myself on both subjects for my own use, and have been including green smoothies in my diet for some time. I have type 2 diabetes myself, and I have found this has helped me with reducing blood sugar quite markedly. I have also noticed greater clarity of mind, much improved digestion and bowel health and a whole lot more energy. For those who don't know about green smoothies, it's like a regular smoothie but with the inclusion of green leafy vegetables, green algae etc.

I have also recently purchased a water filter/ionizer which can produce alkaline water. The benefits of alkaline water does seem to be considerable, although I cannot personally atest to this at this stage, as I am only on day 2 of using it. Suffice to say that the research I have done does seem to point to increasing anti-oxidants in the body, thus reducing free radicals, aiding and speeding of natural body de-toxification, reducing the pressure on the digestive system, liver and kidneys, increasing the amount of oxygen in the body and the brain.

Although I am sold on the green smoothies as they positively encourage the consumption of raw green vegetables as well as fruit (and root veg like carrot and beetroot which is amazing), but I am keen to see if there is any impirical info out there that I can possibly use to suggest their usage in my place of work.

Your feedback would be greatly appreciated
