I went to my GP this week and decided to take in a completed AQ10 form and she was prepared to refer for ASD diagnosis.
I'm unsure how long it will take, but at least my foot is in the door now.

It is common to have to wait for 8-12 months unfortunately.
I was diagnosed at 56 and found a book by Valerie Gaus to be very helpful. www.amazon.co.uk/.../1606236342
It is written for adults but it's a user's guide rather than a theoretical textbook so I found it very good for the pre and post diagnosis stages.
