"biggest fibre boost could be scraps in your bin" - BBC news

The latest health research fad recommends eating fruit and vegetable skins you would normally discard.  In the mode of meat-eaters who eat 'nose to tail', experts are recommending you eat fruit and veg 'root to tip' because of the fibre they contain. This includes peels from bananas, pineapple, lemons, kiwi fruits and melons.

I can't imagine doing this, especially pineapples. I suppose you could make them into 'smoothies' but this doesn't appeal [forgive the pun!]. What do you think? Could you bear chewing these things, to gain more fibre? Frankly, I would rather eat more bran. As to pineapples, what's left of my teeth would crumbleConfounded. I would love to see the person who 'discovered' this sit at table, in public, and prove their words!
