Help, Avice Needed on 3 year old

Hello, this is my first post on this forum. I am a worried dad of a three year old little boy.

His Dr, recommended to have him assessed for autism and we go in two weeks for that appt. I am going to list some of his behaviours good and bad etc and would like for someone to give me an opinion if they have one on what this may look like, or what we might be looking at as far as diagnosis.

He will laugh, show affection, when playing with toys or blowing bubbles he smiles and looks at me with enjoyment. If I point to something he will look to see what I am pointing at.  When I speak to him he will look me in the eyes. He is not putting words together at this point but can say over 200 words. He has in the past lined up his toys and flapped his arms when he had got excited. He can count to thirty and say all his Abc's.  At the age of two (and still can) could turn on the Ipad and go into some apps as Netflix and pick out a movie and watch it. Also knew how to adjust the volume on the ipad while watching cartoons. He can get on apps on the Ipad and play games. He doesnt always answer to his name.

Those are a few of his behaviours and actions. We are currently going to speech therapy. The speech therapist told us he does show a few signs but also stated he does alot more than your usual autism three year old would be doing.

We are hopeful that he just is behind on learning. Since birth he has been raised by his two grandmothers and until just now hasnt hand any interaction or been around other toddlers ever.

Thanky you for any comments and your time.

This is just ignorance...its well worth ignoring the opinion of non-specialist personnel.

Further the toy organising and hand flapping are good, strong markers for ASV, and advanced tech use can be an attribute of those on the spectrum.

Observation of his reaction to other toddlers may prove enlightening.
