Frustrated and Feeling hopeless!!!!

Hi, I have a 4 year old who displays alot of symptoms of autism but has not been assess. We moved here in August and thought that he would have been able to get a quick assesment and then placed into a school system that could cater to his needs...Unfortunately, that has been far from what is happening.

I am feeling frustrated because I know the process does not have to be this long but it is... I have just received an appointment with the pediatrician and from what I read this is only the beginning. My son has not been placed in any school as yet and despite the numerous phone calls and visit to my council it feels like my enquires and falling on deaf ears....Everytime I visit or calls the council I am told that I should wait another 2 weeks for my offer to come which has not arrived to date. I have came to the conclusion that he will be placed in a mainstream school in January because his 5th birthday is February. I am not in a position where I can afford a private assesment and diagnoses..

I feel so lonely on this road and cant seem to find any other families in the Manchester area where I am living that I can talk to for support... I am open to any suggestions....
