Inspiring story of resilience- Karl Bushby, walking round the world in 28 years

I thought you might find this BBC article inspiring: Karl Bushby; walking around the world for 28 years, now nearing home. He began his marathon journey after being bullied at school and thinking he was worthless. He was diagnosed with dyslexia in his last year at school. His mantra? '"Tenacity is emperor."

  • Wow, what an inspiration, 28 years to walk home from Chile. It sounds impossible, but he's done it.

It's sad that the channel tunnel won't let him walk the access tunnel and he's going to have to swim instead. I hope he gets lots of support for it.

Yes, it's really awful - there seems no valid reason. I'm sure he would sign an insurance disclaimer, which is what they seem to be worrying about. His mum is concerned about him swimming the Channel. Karl apparently has lots of online support. I can't imagine the level of self reliance this marathon journey requires - he is truly a one off and very inspiring. I hope he writes a book about his adventures.
