As I stated, in the gratitude thread, I spent Thursday night in an A and E; following back, and neck, pain after a car accident. Even felt nauseous. Got home at 3:20 Friday morning; after getting a taxi back.
In the waiting room, a Chav waiting treatment wanted a lend of a charger. I had one, which I gave to him while closely guarding my bags. After he used it, I tolld the nurse about it; whenever I was on a trolley. Then, he gave it back to me. The benefits of self-advocacy.
Also, in the trolley line, was a woman from my village. Her son saw me, and we kept in conversation. He would have brought me home, but for his mummy to require an additional CT Scan. BUt I was glad to get speaking to him. He even went to a local twenty-four-hour shop to get me crisps and sparkling water. Just the tonic.
When getting a taxi, I needed the receptionist to book one. I privded her with my postcode. However, she booked the cab for the main town my postcode is under. In the end, I had to direct the driver, and he called his Boss; explaining that I wasn't heading to the town. I then told his boss, over the phone, my postcode. Which was an icebreaker. The driver said that it was meant to be a fixed price; which would've been £55. However, the meter charge was £50. So, he let me off with the latter. God works in mysterious ways.
It was nerve-wracking, and left me buzzing all night. However, the staff were helpful. I required the loo, about three of four times, and a male nurse made sure I had an available room to go; with the help of a bottle. He tries to adapt the local lingo, by calling me 'Buddy'. The townies in Northern Ireland call Men 'Buddy' and Women 'Love'.
