Moving House

Hello - first post on here. I'm currently packing (or trying to pack) ready to move house this Saturday. I am finding it so overwhelming and I am struggling to even make up boxes let alone pack them. I'm not particularly upset about moving from my current place (I've been living in student halls as an older student) but I'm experiencing a lot of stress with having not packed and not being prepared whilst also having dysfunction and not physically being able to get up and pack.

Has anyone else experienced this while moving. I am at a loss of how to get myself ready in time to move.

Thank you

  • Hey  , hope you are doing well.

I don't know if this helps at all, but I've heard of this thing called 'body doubling'. It's to help with execution functioning and autistic inertia, but essentially, you arrange to be on a call to someone (you know or I think there are resources online stuff), and you do something you need to do at the same time they are doing something too. I think some people use it to motivate themselves for cleaning the house, or doing paperwork, but it can help to get you moving when you get stuck in the thinking and not the doing.

I've not used it so I don't have any links, but I've come across people talking about it, just thought it might help? I think it helps ADHD folk too.
