Money

I know there's benefits that unemployed people can get, I've already got a list to look at for what I might be able to get

Just wondering if I were to do dog walking or little jobs every now and again for money would I have to let the benefit people know, or would it be okay to do without letting them know

I'm new to this and whilst the benefits would help me I was wondering if there was any other way of getting money (even if it's just a couple pounds per week) - that wouldn't impact my benefit allowance much

I'm yet to look at volunteer opportunities but there are charities around where I live that I would be interested in

At the moment nothing is set in stone, as I've told myself until end of may just to focus on my health and wellbeing, plus anything my previous work place needs be to do (as it was immediate resignation I'm unsure what the process is but my managers boss says she's sending a letter with it all written out!)

Hope this makes sense

  • Hello pinkchocoholic.

The benefit system can be complicated to navigate in regards to benefits and work - knowing the rules is far from simple, I know that i’ve spent quite a lot of time trying to untangle such for my own circumstances.

In addition to our community's feedback, I would like to share a few resources that may be of help.

    Benefits and money

What support is available if I am unable to work?

On another note, you mentioned volunteering - I am sure that many places would benefit from your time and effort, including the National Autistic Society. We are always searching for amazing people to volunteer their time and effort in many different ways.

    Volunteer

Good luck in trying to claim the benefits you deserve, and trying to find either work - whether that is paid or voluntary.

    Thanks -
