Whatever next.....

My son has finally after a ten year battle got a diagnosis of ASD. He's 13 now. I thought I'd be prepared for this as it's what I do as a teaching job but I feel hopelessly lost! What do I do now to get the right support for him. I've been told to apply for a DLA but the form looks scary, also have to prepare for a multi agency review at his school. Arrrr help would be gratefully received ...thanks

  • If you are a teacher you will have access to a teaching centre in a college or university that serves your area (and has books on autism). Also a university may have disability research centre attached to its education department.

If you are in teaching, there are resources you could call upon, ostensibly in support of teaching, but through which you might be able to access more help than most mums.
