Hi , my 4 year old twins ar going for a speech therapy assessment on thursday and i am in a bit of a panic !!!! ..one of them has already has been assessed by a community paed and she has diagnosed adhd/autism ? her conclusion was that she would bet her career on my son as being asd . he has very good verbal skills but since then i have picked up other communication problems such as taking every word literal , not understanding instructions at all , very little eye contact ( but he can do this when he chooses ) , he doesnt understand friendships etc ..he also shows many of other asd traits , but can hold himself together to a certain extent in school so he is in mainstream . He is also pretty good at masking these by mimicking his peers . but my main concern that this wont be picked up on at assessment . i have an older daughter who has struggled for all her 12 years socially and his never been diagnosed as she is also a very good mimicker bt i dont want my son to go through this . Its not that i want him labelled but i do want to make sure that he gets all the help that he so obviously needs . has anyone else gone through this .. our other twin has noticible speech problems which are much easier picked up on .. am i being irrational ..who knows can anyone help
