Brief history of my weight loss journey. October 2024, I weighed 197kg, and started taking mounjaro injections to assist with dieting to come out of morbid obesity. February 2025, I adopted the keto diet and maintained that until October 2025, at which point I weighed 126kg. I took a diet break for the rest of the year, mostly from reintroducing carbs, which led to me now sitting static around 131kg the past few months.
I also in October began regular exercise, starting with simple sit ups, push ups and squats. But I've recently built a home gym with strength training in mind. My diet needs have changed as a result, as I'm no longer just trying to lose fat, but also gain muscle. However, the reading on the scale remains static, and muscle growth is not quite where it should be, despite my progressive overloads.
My efforts in the gym are strong, but my diet could use some more advanced insights. The trouble for me is for one, cost. And for the other, struggles with reaching needed calorie thresholds to support muscle while still keeping a strong deficit to reduce fat. As it stands, I can quite easily get by each day with a couple chicken breasts in tortilla wraps. I've gotten very used to eating very little. But now my needs call for more than I'm comfortable eating, so I need help figuring things out.
So does anyone know where I should look for such things? My finances are low after committing to the gym build.
