Swollen Feet

Earlier, this week, my feet began to swell. First, I called my Doctor's on Tuesday morning; but missed the triage window. Then, at 5:30 pm Tuesday, I called out-of-hours; but no response. Then, Wednesday morning, my Doctor tried to call me. Eventually, an appointment for that afternoon was made. And, this morning, I had a bloods done.

Now, I feel apprehensive. I don't want to be on Statins, after hearing the negative sideeffects. Perhaps, I should ask the Doctor about joining a Gym.

  • Do you have any blood pressure issues?

There are plenty of things that can cause swollen feet / ankles normally such as a lot of time spent on your feet (ie more than normal), being hot (eg working hard and wrapped in warm clothes so the heat cannot escape), changes in medication and of course, pregnancy.

None of these are cause for concern (except the last one) but getting it checked by the doc is a good idea anyway.

I wouldn't worry about it if the effect dissapears with a days rest.

  • I have an ice bag; left in the freezer, since July. Used it, for a brief while, on Tuesday night.

Yes, I'm running around like a blue-4r$ed fly. And also wear warm clothes; one of my Lamb's Wool Cardigans, from Dunne's, work in Belfast on Wednesday meant that I didn't require a coat.
