advice on lightweight winter duvets

Thanks to all for the advice. I bought a Fogarty small double duvet from Dunelm, which weighs just over 2 kg. It was only £24, about half what I paid for the heavy duck and down. So thanks again and I'm looking forward to sleeping under a cloud [of the best kind]. 

Thanks to all for the advice - I'm looking at the weights on JL then going to Dunelm next week to check them out in the flesh. Next stop is more winter trousers - I wanted a pair like I already have but forgot I removed the label, as it was scratchy. Back to the drawing board..

Try going somewhere like Dunelm where they have a selection of duvet's and pillows, unpackaged and on display so as you can have a good look and feel of what you're buying.

Generally, the lightest duvets are down, followed by down and feather. They should last longer than man-made, ten years or so.

When I buy a down duvet, I look for those that are made by ethical, cruelty free methods. 

Microfibre duvets are the lightest synthetic filled duvets and the filling would be the closest in feel to replicating natural down filling. The negative thing is they don’t regulate body heat. Some of the other types of synthetic filled duvet might be heavier, but they might regulate body heat better than microfibre.
