IBS management a method of my own devise.

What is good and bad for ibs write out a list of things positively good and positively bad ++ and +- anything that is neutral you can list next next to 0 for example :

Oats = ++

Citrus fruit = ++

Eggs = ++

Leak = +-

Brocoli = +-

Sprouts = +-

Cabbage = +-

Wheat = 0

Kale = 0

Green beans = 0

Peas = 0

Spinach = 0

Trying to cancel out a +- by increasing ++ will result in a double negative ~~ which means the positives of diet are negated and the negatives are still presnt but now in more abundance, it may be best to exchange what is +- for something that is equal to or greater than (Sorry my keyboard dose not have the symbol for qual to or greater than.), for example exchanging Brocoli sprouts cabbag and leaks for kale green beans peas and spinach. Diet is very difficult to manage especially with conditions like IBS and medicine for ibs spasms in my experience is only effective in acute stages and after that the negatives begin to outweigh the positives the theraputic value is no more and the condition must be treated with a more sutable long-term preventative approach, having a method is helpful and remembering that you will encounter some of the things that are bad for you as a matter of course becaue of human evolution and that we are omniverous hunter gatherer, our gastrointestinal system works in a way that requires a reaction but when people have ibs they have a fault which creates a abnormal reaction, there are some tips that can help you may have discovered and understood some of your own in relation to your own diet such as cheese can help to absorb greens which are essential for helping negate the negative side effects of cooking meat which we also need very much as part of a well rounded and healthy diet.

 Stress is a very large contributing factor in IBS as well as conditions like ADHD any sleep dissorders so where ever large stress inducors can be identified there must be an effort made to idengify and remove the caues or resolve the issue. Good diet nutrition and lifestyle is essential for the brain and body to function especially for people who have long term enduring helath conditions that require the use of daily medications and even more so if assessed and diagnosed with conditions such as Aspergers syndrome where diet and nutrition impacts on sensory sensitivities which impact on cognagive function and ability, with Aspergers syndrome there are often co-occurring conditions like Adhd sleep disorders, sleep apnoea etc and because of the complexities of the when considered as a whole and existing in an individual and each individual is a different person with a unique physiology all of their own the effective treatment and management is not standard medical practice and requires a person very skilled and able and experienced in many areas with a large and broad sweeping skill set who can look at things from many different angles but who is also a very skilled communicator and problem solver with very little competitiveness and even less of a self centered attitude, who will consider from the pospective of the patient disguss with them allowing them to be informed and aware so thar they can plan, prepare and be prepared which is how people work best together to identify problems and work towards a effective resolution and target or end goal which in heath care is improving the heath and ability of the person who is affected by the heath conditions aka the patient. Many things must be considered first and foremost is how to work as a team to meet the needs of the patient as if they were another human being and not just a set of symptoms layed out in a diagnostic manual.

Key:

Positivey good ++

Positively bad +-

Double negative ~~

  • I've devised my own diet to help with IBS, but I wouldn't recommend for everyone as different foods set different people off, I for example love curry and spicy foods, but others would have a bout of it straight away. Some prefer very plain foods, meat and two veg sorts of meals, that would give me a bout of IBS as I can't digest animal protien and now I'm pretty much dairy intollerant too, so most of my meals are pretty much vegan.

    I think you just have to experiement until you identify the foods that set you off and the ones that don't and not be dogmatic about it.

    Two things I find really helpful are fennel tea and chamomile tea, sometimes together, ones a very mild antispasmodic and anti nausea herb and the other is a general relaxant and mild pain killer, both are available in supermarkets, so I don't thinkk I'm breaking any rules.
