Why an MDA when we have a diagnosis?

Hello

I'm new here. My son was recently diagnosed with ASD ater a couple of years of me being fobbed off! What I wanted to know was why school are requesting an MDA despite my son having a diagnosis and already having a referral for OT. Can anyone shed any light?

  • Hello. I think it's multi-disciplinary assessment which, from the brief research I've done, is normally used as a tool to diagnose - using specialists from several areas.... I can't find anywhere a scenario where it's been requested AFTER a diagnosis... But I'm  new to all of this so want to get my facts right before wading in!
