IBS / Stomach issues and autism

Does anyone else on here experience extreme Irritable Bowel Syndrome or other stomach issues?
I've read a lot about the links between these conditions and Autism, possibly because of the stress for us of trying to navigate the NT world.

I have extremely bad IBS, have done for over 12 years but lately my symptoms have become far worse. I was in hospital Thursday and Friday having tests because of nausea, light headedness, bad stomach pain and constant diorrehea. At one point they thought I had appendicitis. Even now I am awaiting further scans and tests to see what's wrong even though I suspect it is a very bad flare up of my IBS. (For context, I have been under a great deal of stress lately)

My question is does anyone else on here have similar things? Would be useful to know

  • I suffer bloating when stressed or eat the wrong foods but not to the extent you describe so I hope you find some relief soon.

I eat reasonably clean with very little processed foods but I’m about to embark on a cortisol flush in a few weeks. It’s a detox basically. I will let you know how it goes as it’s supposed to be good for your gut health.
