Could we have a mechanism to get the Moderators attention faster during spam invasions?

Today's situation in intolerable. The spammers created about twenty new threads, filling out the list for "health problems" discussions, over an hour ago, and there's no sign of the Moderators......

Longman - whilst we're working to increase the amount of moderators we have here, we weren't able to log in for a period of time. This stopped us taking action sooner.
