Been panicking

Got letter  stating that a duodenal polyp that was removed was a neuroendocrine tumour. The polyp sample couldn't be retrieved therefore complete excision couldn't be confirmed.

The removal took place in March. I didn't know about the tumour till getting the letter on Saturday. I'm trying to be rational and sensible but it's hard. Appointment on 21st to discuss things.

Appetite is  good. May have put on rather than lost weight. Only further physical deterioration = right knee playing up. I have rheumatoid arthritis.

  • I'm very sorry to hear that, and hope things work out as well as possible for you.

I appreciate that we all approach these things in our own way, so please forgive me if this is more hindrance than help.

In case you think it might be helpful, whether now or maybe later, I'll just leave a link here to the neuroendocrine forum in the Macmillan Cancer Support community, where others might be able to offer you support and advice:

  • Thank you Bunny, but unfortunately the link doesn't work.

  • I'm so sorry - I don't know why it won't post as a functional link (I've just re-tried several times).

I've had to leave it as a version that can be copy and pasted, at least.
