Hi all first time posters.
We have a 5 yo little boy who is non verbal ASD. We have recently started potty training.
The obstacle that has surfaced is that he will wee in his pants as if they are his nappy but will not wee in the toilet.
We have also discovered that if we leave him with nothing on he can control his weeing so that he will not go, but still not in the toilet.
Does anyone have any ideas or experiences that they would be willing to share with us?
We are following a detailed plan from the book "ready steady potty" and have made the toilet a relaxed calm appealing environment he does not mind sitting on the toilet, he just does not seem to get the idea that this is where he should go.
