Heartburn

I was recently at a talk given by an autistic advocate and he casually mentioned he had rennies in his bag which got me thinking. Why would someone randomly have rennies with them. I get lots of heartburn but did not read much into it. Then I did a Google search and it turns out that being autistic brings a higher occurrence of heartburn, with one study being done.

Does anyone else get this?

  • For as long as I can remember, I have suffered from bouts of heartburn. In some instances, it's easy for me to link it to something I have eaten or drank. As I've gotten older, there are some foods and drinks that I now actively avoid... particularly those with high acidic content.

For example, I used to love eating pickled onions with cheese and crackers, but the heartburn the pickled onions triggered was horrendous. I love tangy citrus flavours, but because of the heartburn they can trigger, I find I have to be really careful now and limit my consumption.
