Heartburn

I was recently at a talk given by an autistic advocate and he casually mentioned he had rennies in his bag which got me thinking. Why would someone randomly have rennies with them. I get lots of heartburn but did not read much into it. Then I did a Google search and it turns out that being autistic brings a higher occurrence of heartburn, with one study being done.

Does anyone else get this?

  • Yes! I get heartburn and so much digestive discomfort and issues, at times it's actually really debilitating and can be embarrassing! I pretty much live on heartburn medicine from the chemist sometimes. From reading I've done online I realise autism and defins anxiety cause my heartburn and following certain diets has helped control it a bit. I make sure I carry my heartburn medicine in my bag and keep it on me when I go out, otherwise it can be very uncomfortable.

Inside my bag must look like I've raided the chemists at times lolol Sweat smile
