Suffering with possible ARFID

I think I might have ARFID (avoiding restrictive food intake disorder) and I have no clue where to get help from.

I am struggling with my weight and health because of my food problems. Can anyone help me find help for this? I need to eat better things but just can't because of the tasten smell, and texture.

  • I've been seeing a therapist for ARFID through the NHS eating disorder service. It took quite a while and in the end they sent me to a private place and covered the cost because their waiting list had got ridiculous. I think it's helped a bunch. I'm coming to the end now and I'm not in a perfect place but a lot better than I was until earlier this year. Hopefully it will help me not fall back so far again.

I'm definitely a weird case with ARFID though since I'm less bothered by taste and texture but pretty scared of the energy in things. I could eat broccoli plenty, but bananas and ice cream are pretty terrifying.

  • Thank you again for the advice, I'll get right on it!
